Some people just don't get it.

So I'm leaving work, when I see this in the motorcycle parking area.

*sigh*

Coming soon in Greenwich Village

Saw this while heading back to the bike from Porto Rico coffee. Caught my eye, and now I guess I'm waiting for the next time I'm in the neighborhood after they open. Their web site doesn't have much to go by yet (particularly on a work notebook without Flash!), but I'll go check 'em out I suppose.

A couple of Kildala mods

2 Ride the World

One more of Simon and Lisa. That's my bike intruding on the right.

2 Ride the World

These are the bikes that Simon and Lisa Thomas have taken around the world. Many modifications have been made to these bikes, as detailed on their web site, 2RideTheWorld. Their story so far has been alternately exhilarating and terrifying. Their pictures are incredible. Their experience is unique.

Out on the trail...

It's taken me forever, but here are a few more pictures from XPLOR Blue Ridge.

That's me in the foreground. In the back are Laurence Kuykendall and Jack 'Splash' O'Connor.

These two photos are from Ruth Mountain. This isn't what some folks would call real off roading, but with big BMWs it's a challenge. I was glad to be on a little 650.

Decided to use Picasa's "Collage" feature to see what I'd get. I rather like the results.

Ready to roll.

The bike basically all packed and ready. The new soft tailbag makes things easier.

Heading off to Xplor Blue Ridge

Gotta love this. I'm spending the weekend in Virginia at the BMW Event 'XPlor Blue Ridge'. It lasts all weekend, and involves either road trips on the Blue Ridge Parkway or off-road training from Jimmy Lewis and trail/dirt riding at 'The Farm'

Here are a couple of pictures of the place...

Owwww

Went 'bandit MXing' with WR guy t'other day. This was one result, perhaps the least fun one.

Nice guy, Rich. Taught me a few more things about riding my bike in dirt, showed me a surprising location for dirt-tracking, and even let me try out his WR for myself. Thanks!

It took two days for this to start bruising.
